Shout-out

While on the way to work this morning, I overheard a father talking to his wife. “Baka trapik sa Heritage ngayon.” The wife answered, “Bakit magta-trapik, eh bukas pa ang libing?” (Referring to the burial of Tita Cory.)
“Akala ko ngayon.”
“Saka hindi naman sa Heritage ang libing. Sa Manila Cathedral nakaburol. Sa Manila Memorial ang libing.”
“Akala ko nga ngayon.”
“Saan ba ang daan papuntang Paranaque? Sa Roxas boulevard.”
“AKALA KO NGA NGAYON!”, this time louder as if shouting with a mix of anger and annoyance.

The man ended the conversation with “I would rather shut my mouth.”

Well, he really should have just shut his mouth!
